MAURITIUS: SEA, SUN…..
Don’t be fooled into thinking that, given its small size, Mauritius has nothing to offer but ocean, white sand and coconut palms;
Of course, you’ll want to make the most of one of its main attractions, which will certainly have played a part in your choice of expatriation: its magnificent beaches;
You can enjoy them in local mode on the public beaches and take the opportunity to taste rotis or faratas bought in one of the countless truck-foods, in Robinson mode on a deserted and isolated cove where you will feel alone in the world or in tourist mode by spending the day or the weekend in one of the many luxurious hotels on the island and taking advantage of the water activities on offer.
But your leisure time won’t be limited to sunbathing on one of the island’s superb beaches. There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy: fitness or yoga sessions on the beach, beach volleyball, paddle, kite, surf …., not forgetting catamaran trips to discover the small islands, which for one day will make you think you’re on holiday and not a resident;
Mauritius is not just about beaches: there are many walks to be enjoyed on your own, in a group or with a guide. There are also mountains to climb: le Pouce, le Morne… with incredible views as a reward;
For those who aren’t very outdoorsy, there is a profusion of shopping centres and boutiques in shopping towns, making for a very pleasant time.
The island’s cosmopolitan cuisine is another attraction worth discovering: Chinese, Creole, Indian, fusion, there’s something to suit every taste and every budget;
There are plenty of other things to do and activities to enjoy: horse-riding, team sports in clubs, parachute jumping, flying over the island in a seaplane, swimming with dolphins, diving, deep-sea fishing, road trips to discover picturesque villages…
In this section, we’ll be sharing our experiences and discoveries with you, and we’d love you to share yours with us. We’ll also keep you informed of upcoming events;
